Russia Blocks Access to Snapchat and FaceTime

Russia Tech Ban

Russias federal agency for monitoring and censoring mass media, Roskomnadzor, has blocked access to Snapchat and FaceTime in the country. According to reports from Russian news service Interfax, the bans were implemented because these platforms were allegedly used to organize terrorist acts and commit fraud. This action continues Russias pattern of restricting communication and social platforms that began after the countrys invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
