Peter Jackson's acclaimed Lord of the Rings trilogy will return to theaters in January to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Fellowship of the Ring. Fathom Entertainment and Warner Bros. have announced special screenings of the extended editions in two distinct formats. From January 16 to 19, moviegoers can experience the trilogy in DBOX presentations featuring motion and vibration effects that simulate the journey through Middle-earth. For those preferring a traditional viewing experience, standard format screenings will be available from January 23 to 25. Collectors and fans will have the opportunity to purchase limited-edition themed concession items, including popcorn buckets featuring maps of Middle-earth at AMC locations and designs of the One Ring at Regal venues and other local cinemas. Tickets are already available for purchase through Fathom's website, allowing enthusiasts to plan their return to Middle-earth on the big screen for this special anniversary celebration.
