The Indian government has released ₹1,350 crore as part of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for the automotive sector. This financial support is aimed at boosting domestic manufacturing of advanced automotive technology products and expanding the electric vehicle value chain in India. The scheme has approved 82 applicants who are eligible for incentives based on their production and sales performance. So far, eligible sales under the program have reached ₹32,879 crore, though this represents just a fraction of the ambitious target of ₹2,31,500 crore set for achievement by March 2028. The disbursement reflects the government's commitment to strengthening the automotive manufacturing ecosystem in India.
